The misleading "news" about teen sex...

Teen sex has definitely been an issue for Americans for quite some time now, but the truth is that the average teen is waiting. The media has chosen to say everything is getting worse but in all actuality the statistics are down.
Today fewer than half of all high-school students have had sex: 47.8% of 2007, according to the national youth risk behavior summary, down from 54.1 % in 1991.
Why does the media proclaim that it is getting worse? Well, it makes sense to assume that the times have changed therefore teens are engaging in sexually activity… but the facts are that they are not. The media claims false accusations of these teens, and it is not fair.

Is the media Bias...towards Obama???

When it comes to media coverage of this election, some call it over the top for President elect Barack Obama. Is there media bias?
Well, some proclaim that since the beginning of this election that there has been a definite bias for pro- democrat. The media has been covering this election from the very get-go and even though it may seem like the media is bias or pro- democrat I believe that they just have been very thorough. The country has been ready for a change for some time now and that is why they are so positive about Obama.
John Hopkins, a metro Atlanta republican stated, “ The press has been very one sided, very pro-democratic. Bush haters if you will. It’s more of the same, but it’s over with and we have one president at a time and I am excited for him”.
For Hopkins to be a republican and relay a positive message about our new president is refreshing. It would positively wonderful if everyone would be supportive of our new president.

Governor of Illinois convicted by media before trial even begins...

I believe by now mostly everyone has heard or read about Governor Rod Blagojevich. The Governor of Illinois has been accused of trying to sell the U.S. Senate seat vacated by President-elect Barack Obama. On January 9th, the impeached Blagojevich vowed that he would remain to fight his innocence and fight every step of the way. The house impeached Blagojevich on Friday on a wide array of offenses, including criminal corruption and wasting taxpayers’ money.
The fact of the matter is that “we” as a society have already charged and convicted Blagojevich in our minds. The media has been focusing on only the negative aspects of Blagojevich’s term as Governor of Illinois. Who is say that he is guilty when the court system that we have all come to trust hasn’t even looked at all the evidence. Now, I am not saying that he innocent but, the fact is that no one should accuse the Governor until all of the facts have been assessed and the law has been proven tampered with or not. The media sometimes condemns the convicted without a fair trial. Which in any sense is not what we want as a society. The answer is simple, everyone should receive a fair trial and an open-minded jury…. sometimes in this country that is too far fetched to fathom because of the media coverage.
