Microsoft asks for severance money back from employees...

So everyone has been hit really hard with the recession that has been taking place. There have been so many lay-offs and so many companies that have shut down…it’s SCARY!

But, Microsoft did something that might have gone too far.

The Microsoft Corporation launched one of the largest lay offs in history a few weeks ago. About 1, 000 people were let go from their jobs with a severance package. Well, little did some of them know that they would have to return some of the payment that they had just received.

Microsoft claimed that when they sent out the severance checks that in some of them there had been an error or glitch. They claimed that 25 of the 1,000 people received $4,000-$5,000 too much money and they wanted it back.

The letters from Microsoft surfaced on the Web last Saturday and caused an uproar with many people. Microsoft tried to explain that it had been a mistake but the media and public were having a field day with all of it.

Lisa Brummel, Senior Vice President for human resources, took most of the backlash from the public and decided o just let the employees keep the money.

By Monday morning there was a new letter stating that Microsoft was very sorry and that the employees could keep the money.

So, I guess by the media being so forceful it helped out these employees. If there would have never been a leak on the Web this action probably would of never happened.

Octuplets mom...crucified by the media!

The story about the woman who gave birth to Octuplets has really hit the roof. As by now everyone has heard of the 33 year old woman who gave birth to eight newborns recently. The idea of someone purposely trying to get pregnant when they are already single, and have six other children ranging from the ages of 2 and 7 was definitely the talk of the town. Or should I say country??

The public and media have ridiculed Nadia Suleman, mother of fourteen children, but I feel it is necessary. I personally feel like it is absurd and disgusting that a woman would want to do this to her body and raise all of these children by herself. But, the fact is that my opinion doesn’t matter does it? NO!

A woman should have any rights that she wants and even though I don’t necessarily agree with what Suleman has done…I don’t feel the media ever has the right to crucify someone like this.

Chris Brown's reputation-shot down the drain...

Chris Brown is known as what they call a triple threat…but now people might think of him as a violent threat!

This past Sunday was a very dark day for one of America’s most promising stars. America has looked at him as a “clean-cut” role model. Especially compared to his musical competition such as; Lil’ Wayne and Snoop Dog. Brown has always kept a good boy image.

Now, things are a little different for the artist. After a felony domestic abuse case against him brown might be in for a big reality check. His clean-cut image may be on its way down the drain extremely fast. The media has been covering this story since it hit early Monday morning and has been on a whirlwind…

Everybody just wants to know what happened and why did he do it???

Brown turned himself into Los Angeles authorities Sunday night for allegedly assaulting a woman. He was booked and released on $ 50, 000 bail: he’s scheduled to go to court next month.

The big question is…what went wrong? What will happen to his image? What will happen to his career? Well, even though sometimes the media can blow things out of proportion. When they are right…they are right. If Brown comes forward and apologizes publicly, I fell as if the public will forgive him. As well as the media!!

Michael Phelps caught smokin' a doobie...

At 6:45 am this morning I was doing my usual routine…turn coffee pot on, turn on the today show, and try to wake up. Well, to my dismay the story I heard this morning was definitely breaking news. Michael Phelps Olympic gold medallist was caught smoking dope!
WOW! So, then I get in my car and turn on the radio and listen to my usual MJ in the morning show on 97.9 and again all I hear is this story of Phelps smoking pot. The radio disc jockey went on to talk about Phelps and the incident that took place.
The fact is that this is news to everyone because the world looks at Phelps as a role model. The problem is that even though the 23 year old is an Olympic gold medallists and a hero to many young people of the world. He is still just a young man in his own right and should not judged on every aspect of his life.
The media is crucifying Phelps for this action and trying to tear him down completely for his stupidity. Phelps went on to say in a press release…
”I acted in a youthful and inappropriate way, not in a manner people have come to expect from me.”
Should the public forgive him? Of course they should. What is interesting to me is that I guarantee that 85% of the journalists who are covering these stories have smoke a doobie or two in their day. The media should lay off a little bit but of course they are going to ride this into the ground. We will probably be hearing about this five years from now.
